So much to do on this our final week!

On Monday Group A finalized the shooting of the remaining dances. Tuesday was dedicated to an open exploration of various digital tools to compose music. Once the group grew in confidence of their creative powers, on Wednesday we specifically worked on creating the sound scores for the short films. We began by looking at the rushes of the takes identifying the mood and tempo suggested by the shots. Participants then chose what instruments they wanted to use for their composition. They created the scores inspired by their footage. The results were amazing, evidence that participants had understood the relationship between the moving image and the sound accompanying it!

On Thursday our last day, we explored as a group how in the editing process the images and sounds come together. This will be worked on in more detail next year but as an introduction we collaborated as a team in the rough edit of Asael’s Mr Coco!

Group B had fun filled final days finalizing their movement and sound story A Walk in the Clouds. Each element in the story was linked to a coloured scarf and a coloured bell (each plays a different note): blue for the clouds, yellow for the sun, green for the worm that came out early in the morning, orange for earth the worm had to dig through, red for flower it rested under and purple for its friend, the snail. They all explored being one or more characters!

We can’t wait for next summer 2026 when we will explore ‘OUR PLANET EARTH!
